Connection, awareness & PROCESs
Most of the subjects in Body and Mind at Odder Hojskole are only taught in Danish. However, as an English speaker you will be able to have some subjects. (the subjects that are presented beneath are all taught in English)
The body and the mind are two sides of the same coin — you. Sometimes they work in harmony. Other times, they pull in different directions. This can lead to restlessness, doubt, and confusion. In Body and Awareness, we strive to create calm and balance. If you long to understand yourself and the context life has placed you in — and if you want to find focus when things feel overwhelming — then the Body and Awareness courses at Odder Højskole might be just what you need.
We alternate between theory and practical exercises. Whether we’re doing yoga, cold-water bathing, meditating, giving massages, or moving to classical music or techno, the goal is always to offer inspiration and support for the everyday process of living. Being “in process” means working with whatever is happening in your life, right here and now. It requires realism, perspective, and a strong connection to yourself. It also takes an open heart — and the courage to see what you hold within.
In Body and Awareness, you’ll find both high-energy classes and others that allow space for inner calm. We collaborate with the Psychomotor Therapy Education programme, and if you’re considering a future in health, personal development, psychomotor therapy, psychology, movement, body therapy, or psychotherapy, the courses in the School of Body and Awareness will be highly relevant for you.
