Acting

Acting at
Odder Højskole

In Acting, we explore the many facets of the craft through hands-on practice. You’ll have the chance to try out a variety of techniques – whether in solo monologues or in dynamic scenes with others. You’ll be taught by a respected film and theatre director, experienced in helping professional actors perform at their very best.

Humans have acted since ancient times – likely even longer. Acting is, in many ways, a deeply rooted part of what it means to be human.

When we act, we step into someone else’s shoes. We speak their words, feel their emotions, and see the world through their eyes. Acting teaches us to be human – it pushes us to look inward and outward at once. In Acting, we explore ourselves, each other, and the world around us, all at the same time.

Try it out on stage and on camera

This course bridges the worlds of theatre and film. You’ll experience both performing for a live audience and acting for the camera. These are two very different disciplines – and here, you’ll learn what works best in each. Along the way, you’ll build physical confidence, stage presence, and courage. And you’ll gain tools you can use – not just as an actor, but as a human being.

As a student in Acting, you’ll also have the chance to participate in the many diverse film projects produced each year at Odder Folk High School.

Your teacher is Morten Lundgaard, who also teaches Video Art. Outside the school, Morten works as a theatre director – including at the Theater Svalegangen in Aarhus, where he directed one of the theatre’s biggest hits ever: “No Regrets”, a play about Danish footballer Stig Tøfting.

Several students from Odder Folk High School have gone on to attend top acting schools – both in Denmark and abroad.
