Clay and Glaze at
Odder Højskole
In Clay & Glaze, you’ll dive into large-scale ceramic work. You’ll create vases, serving dishes, and much, much more! It requires concentration, immersion, technical skill – and above all, an appreciation for the craft. After a week in the ceramics workshop, you’ll gain deeper insight into the possibilities of clay and the unique aesthetics of glaze.
Shaping techniques and Decoration
You’ll be introduced to a wide range of ceramic shaping techniques, including wheel throwing, slab building, coiling, and extruding. You’ll also receive practical and theoretical instruction in decoration, glazing, and firing. All of this takes place while you work hands-on with clay – turning theoretical knowledge into your very own ceramic creations.
Plenty of Creative design Subjects
If you’re into design, Odder Højskole offers a variety of other subjects where you can explore your creativity and craftsmanship. You can choose clothing design, embroidery, or work with other materials in our design projects course. The course is taught by a professional ceramicist trained at the Royal Danish Academy in Bornholm.
