In Land Art, we take the creative and artistic process outdoors. We create works that explore both nature and impermanence, and we discuss how the place and the natural surroundings influence the art—and what the relationship between nature and art really is.

This art form originally emerged in the late 1960s in the USA but has experienced a huge revival lately because of climate change and the biodiversity crisis. In this course, we dive into the age-old philosophical question: What is art, and what is nature?

Art, Philosophy, and Creative Craftmanship

We often use materials we find in nature. In Land Art, it’s not about shouting for attention, but about creating works that make us pause, notice, and add a new dimension to the place—while at the same time, nature eventually reclaims the artwork.

This course is a blend of art, philosophy, and creative craftsmanship all at once.

If you want even more time in nature, you might enjoy courses like Hiking and Wellness or Winter Swimming. If it’s the art that calls you, then maybe Ceramics or Drawing could be your thing.
