Rueda De Casino

In Rueda de Casino, we dance the captivating Cuban dance that originated in 1950s Havana. Since then, it has taken the world by storm—perhaps because it’s such a uniquely community-building dance. The basic idea is that dancing couples form a circle and perform the same moves, called out by one person known as the Caller. It’s an energetic and social dance style, characterized by many partner changes, making it perfect for a folk high school setting.

As with all dance forms, you’ll improve your physical coordination, develop muscle memory, and boost your fitness.

Latinamerikanske rødder og rytmer

Rueda de Casino is a lively, energetic dance deeply rooted in Latin American dance history. Yet it stands apart from many other Latin dances due to its high level of improvisation—sometimes borrowing steps from rumba or African dance traditions.

Bring your energy—dancing rueda is a party!

If you just can’t get enough dancing, you can also choose Salsa or Dance Workshop.
